Can you believe it’s already October? What happened to the year? Halloween is only a few weeks away, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and before we know it, Christmas will be here, and then 2019! It’s going so fast!
It’s easy at this point of the year to give up. Slack off. I’m just going to be eating junk for the next couple months, why not just wait until January?
News flash: You don’t have to wait until the new year! You don’t have the wait for a new month to begin your goals. You don’t have to wait until Monday. You can start right now!
Take a look at where you are right now. Are you where you want to be? If the answer is no, then think about what needs to change. What can you do right now that will get you on your way? What about tomorrow? And the next day?
You don’t have to have everything figured out to get started! I’m the sort of person that likes details and lists. If I’m going to start something new, I want to know everything that needs to happen. I have to plan ahead. And,yeah, for some things that works. But I’ve figured out that I have this tendency to get overwhelmed when I look at the long lists and all the details. I start to feel like it doesn’t matter what I do, I’m not going to get everything exactly how it needs to get done. And then, a lot of times, I talk myself out of it.
You don’t have to know all the answers. You don’t have to know how an expert does something before you start. Start with what you do know. If you want to take up a new hobbies, then start! You may have to watch a few basic tutorials on YouTube, but you don’t have to master it overnight!
It can be scary. It can be hard. It can be overwhelming. You may fail, and that’s okay. Just pick yourself back up and keep trying!
