Okay DFW friends, I need your help!! I have a few other trails and parks and stuff I plan on writing about over the next few weeks, but I’m running out of ideas. What are some of your favorite trails to run/walk/hike/bike? They can be paved or natural.

Comment below or you can contact me through the details on my contact page!

I look forward to hearing from y’all!

  1. I lived in Dallas back from 2002-2006. I know it has changed a lot since then, but one I really liked was doing a loop from Reverchon Park up Turtle Creek to Knox then following the KATY Trail back. I imagine you have done that one plenty of times. Not all of Turtle Creek had a path along it back then but most did, to some degree. In those days Baby Doe’s was still around and my girlfriend and I would climb up on the Coors billboard and sit on the faux rocks next to the waterfall. As far as I was concerned, it was just about the coolest place in Dallas.

If you have not been to the Wichita Mountains up in Oklahoma, you ought to do yourself the favor and head up there. It is easily the best and most beautiful hiking within a 5 hour drive of Dallas (it only takes 3-3.5 hours to get there but the Caprock is 6 hours away and between that and the Wichitas, there is pretty much nothing). Awesome wilderness, wildlife, mountains and trails and Medicine Park is a real sleeper town that ought to be the most famous village in Oklahoma.

    1. Thank you so much! I haven’t been that way in a while, and I actually haven’t been to the Katy trail yet, but it’s on my to-do list! I’ll have to check out the Wichita Mountains too! I’ve been kind of by there several time driving between Amarillo and Dallas, but we’ve never stopped to check that stuff out. Thanks for the tip!
